[Quotable]: Kevin Garnett on Why Hard Work Always Pays Off

The hard work always pays off. It might not pay off where you want it to, but it always pays off….real shit. Whenever I ran the beach or did sand dunes, I never regretted it. I never looked at it like, oh, when is this shit going to kick in?

Guess what? Rondo threw the lob too high, I went up and got that mother, came down swinging on the rim, like, thank God I did them goddamn sandhills! Like, you know, like, man, I’ve never been in positions or been in situations where I worked my ass off for something and it didn’t pay off. It might not hit right away, but anytime you put whole heart into something…

I think too, people put so much expectations on the hard work expecting it to come back, like bang, bang. Like, nah man…nah. The hard work always pay off man.

Just man, listen, lemme say something to y’all out there–at some point or another, always remember the cake mentality. You know how you making the cake and you putting in cake man, and you want it, it tastes good like that. Yeah, but you gotta put it in the oven and in that oven it’s gotta cook and then it’s gonna come out. It’s gonna be better and it’s gonna be cooked. Man, don’t rush nothing. Put that work in, let it go, and then respect time, letting things organically happen.
