6/23 update: The Giannis trade is IN! #13 goes from Heat to Bucks. Also, Julius Randle to the Nets along with the #28 pick from the Wolves.

New mock drafts added for Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Sam Vecenie (The Athletic), No Ceilings, Ricky O’Donnell (SB Nation) and Jeremy Woo (ESPN). We have 24 total for the month of June! I broke down the #mockdraftcomp into two parts: (1) pre-June 23rd and (2) June 23rd so we can study the differences.

6/22 update 2: Two more new mock drafts from Tankathon and Kevin O’Connor (Yahoo Sports) added. 18 total now! That being said, more apples to apples to compare the first half of the month mocks vs each other and then the 2nd half of the month mocks to each other.

6/22 update 1: Draft day is TOMORROW! Wow. Dusty May just hired as Mavs coach. Giannis trade about to go down. Buckle up and break out the high test coffee. We have new mock drafts this morning from Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Kyle Mann and Danny Chau (The Ringer), and Jeremy Woo (ESPN). Plus, an updated one from yours truly. We now have 16 total mock drafts for June to compare and study in advance of tomorrow’s festivities!

6/18 update: New mock draft from Sam Vecenie (The Athletic) added this afternoon. See updated #mockdraftcomp and pick variance chart below. A couple interesting picks on this one, including Christian Anderson to Miami at #13 and Yaxel Lendeborg dropping to Chicago at #15.

6/17 update: Added three more mock drafts from the No Ceilings crew and updates from Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Kevin O’Connor (Yahoo Sports). We now have 11 total for June…and counting!

No Ceilings has Cam Carr going at #10 and Nate Ament way down at #25. Let that marinate for a bit! As a pure NBA fan, I’m loving the thought of their #5 to #10 picks going in that exact order with Mikel Brown to the Clippers, Acuff to the Nets, Flemings to the Kings, Wagler to the Hawks and then Carr to the Bucks.

6/16 update: Added two new mock drafts from Jeremy Woo (ESPN) and Tankathon. Things are heating up, to say the least! See updated #mockdraftcomp and pick variance chart below. Media smoke screens, mock draft group think, “watch out for X” trainer workout videos all coming in at a rapid pace.

Some random thoughts:

• Interesting news this week about Darryn Peterson only working out for the Wizards. To me, I read this as he doesn’t want to live in Utah as much as he desperately wants to be (and thinks he deserves to be) the #1 pick.
• Cam Boozer does make sense for the Jazz alongside JJJ, IF they trade Lauri Markkanen and reshape the roster a bit. I don’t see much about that possibility, but there are many teams that could shuffle the deck this offseason with Giannis, Trae Young, Jaylen Brown, Ja Morant, Austin Reaves (possible S&T), Domantis Sabonis, and De’Aaron Fox all potentially on the market and in the same general price range.
• Can we just get the Clippers’ punishment handed down already?! How are they supposed to know how to draft and navigate free agency this offseason if they don’t know what will happen? Trading down does make sense as they need more youth and upside on their roster, but if it were me, I would not pass up on Mikel Brown. 50-50 chance that he is seen as a top 3 player in this draft in 5 years, in my opinion.
• I’m seeing a bit more consensus among the rankings of the top point guards projected to go in the lottery, but now the confusion seems to have shifted to the second tier with Ebuka Okorie, Bennett Stirtz, Labaron Philon and Christian Anderson. “Confusion” probably isn’t the right word, as it’s just eye of the beholder stuff, but as you’ll see below in the pick variance chart, there’s quite a lot of disagreement about where those four will land.
• Sure seems like lots of teams want a big, strong 4 who can play both ends and shoot it, while being switchable, including Hornets, Spurs, Thunder, Bulls and Nets. This should bode real well for Morez Johnson and Yaxel Lendeborg. And maybe this even saves the day for Koa Peat after a disastrously ill-timed form tweak on his jumper. Could Zuby Ejiofor jump Peat?

And to top things off, we have a ton of trade rumors flying around which could reshape the power structure of the draft, not to mention team needs. The NBA Draft Lottery and Combine have come and gone and we have a fresh batch of mock drafts to analyze from the best in the business: Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Jeremy Woo (ESPN), Kevin O’Connor (Yahoo Sports), Sam Vecenie (The Athletic), Ricky O’Donnell (SB Nation), and Tankathon. Plus, one from yours truly.

Some random thoughts/questions:

• Utah may make a move for Dybantsa at #1, and if I’m Washington and don’t think Trae will be around for the long term than I’d rather have someone who can play point guard like Darryn Peterson versus another wing. It’s cute that they acquired Trae and AD for cheap, but there are already rumblings that AD wants out. Flipping the two for more assets makes some sense. They need to be ready either way.
• Mikel Brown is being underrated in my opinion, and should go #5. I can’t unsee him being the alpha dog and most impactful player on a 2025 U19 World Cup team that also had Dybantsa, Tyran Stokes, and Jordan Smith. If I’m the Clippers I’d take him and figure it out later. As we’re seeing with OKC and San Antonio, teams need a lot of guard depth to compete at the highest level in the playoffs.
• Speaking of that, I’m seeing a lot of mocks with Christian Anderson, Philon, or even Stirtz to Memphis, but has anyone looked at my depth charts to remind themselves that the Griz already have Scotty Pippen, Cam Spencer, Ty Jerome, and Walter Clayton…and Ja Morant! Best player available, I get it, but that’s probably enough quality guard depth. If anything, I’d be trying to pilfer one of those guards from them if I’m
• Koa Peat‘s jump shot = what the hell happened? Someone from his team of friends, family, agents, trainers needs to be fired and locked up. They just cost him a lot of $$$, not to mention messing up his mental health with the shit storm of criticism and the microscope he’ll now be under.
• The Caleb Wilson love fest has been a bit much. He seems like a great kid and player….we get it. I appreciated all of the analysis of his (lack of) defense to bring things back down to earth. Hoping he’ll end up in Chicago, but Memphis would work well too.
• Are we sure Morez and Yaxel shouldn’t go top 10? High impact PF’s don’t grow on trees. A player in that mold, a la Al Horford, is rare and can allow teams unlock major lineup versatility. The Nets should take a good, hard look.
• I’m pre-sad for whoever gets picked by Sacramento. Keon Ellis didn’t play. Devin Carter didn’t play until they tanked. Are they seriously going to bring a top lottery pick into that environment to play under the pairing of Russell Westbrook and Zach LaVine?!

We’re back with April mock drafts to analyze from the best in the business: Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Jeremy Woo (ESPN), Kevin O’Connor (Yahoo Sports), Sam Vecenie (The Athletic), Ricky O’Donnell (SB Nation), the No Ceilings crew, and Tankathon. Plus, one from yours truly.

The NBA early entry deadline is officially behind us, and the biggest headline is the lack of volume compared to recent years. 71 players filed as early entrants for the 2026 NBA Draft — the fewest since 2003 and a massive drop from the 106 entrants in 2025.

Several projected first-round names elected to return to school, including Braylon Mullins, Patrick Ngongba, and Thomas Haugh, thinning out the middle of the draft board while strengthening college basketball heading into next season.

Buzz over the past couple of weeks includes Caleb Wilson, who continues to gain momentum as a potential top-3 selection, along with video surfacing of Jayden Quaintance working out and looking healthy.

The NBA finalized tiebreakers for the 2026 Draft on April 20, setting the pre-lottery order. The Utah Jazz (4th) won over the Kings (5th) and the Pelicans (7th) won over the Mavericks (8th). These results determined lottery odds and protected pick obligations, with the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery scheduled for May 10.

2026 NBA Draft Tiebreaker Results

• No. 4-5 Position: The Utah Jazz (22-60) won the tiebreaker over the Sacramento Kings.
• No. 7-8 Position: The New Orleans Pelicans (26-56) won the tiebreaker over the Dallas Mavericks.
• No. 16-18 Position: The Phoenix Suns (45-37) won a tiebreaker over the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic.
• No. 19-20 Position: The Toronto Raptors won the tiebreaker over the Atlanta Hawks.
• No. 22-23 Position: The Houston Rockets won the tiebreaker over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
• No. 24-25 Position: The New York Knicks won the tiebreaker over the Los Angeles Lakers.

2026 Draft Implications

• Jazz/Kings: The Jazz secured a higher probability for a top-four pick.
• Pelicans/Mavs: The Pelicans (7th) receive better odds, with their pick potentially going to the Hawks (via earlier trade).
• Pick Conveyances: Phoenix’s pick (16th) goes to Memphis, while Philadelphia’s pick (17th) goes to Oklahoma City.

Now the focus shifts to pre-draft workouts, the G League Combine, NBA Draft Combine, and the May 27 NCAA withdrawal deadline, where more draft movement is expected after prospects gather feedback from teams.

We are in the thick of a highly entertaining March Madness, with a fresh set of mock drafts to analyze and compare from Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), Jeremy Woo (ESPN), Sam Vecenie (The Athletic), Ricky O’Donnell (SB Nation), the No Ceilings crew, Tankathon, and yours truly.

Still lots of uncertainty surrounds the top three of Dybantsa, Boozer, and Peterson, but one thing everyone agrees on is Caleb Wilson being a lock at No. 4. After that, we have an impressive grouping of elite guards to sort through.

For much of the second half of the season, the majority have been highest on Kingston Flemings and Keaton Wagler, with Darius Acuff making a late surge with a run of dominant offense. However, I now lean toward Brayden Burries and Mikel Brown. It will ultimately come down to team fit and perceived ceiling, but pound for pound, I feel like Burries and Brown will be the most impactful due to their combination of size, IQ, and high skill level–especially with more space to navigate in the NBA.

Brown had a tough season due to injuries, but certainly showed flashes for Louisville when healthy. And for anyone who saw him lead Team USA to a gold medal (and what should have been an MVP) in the 2025 FIBA U19 FIBA World Cup, it was easy to see his confidence and skill shine under intense pressure.

Wagler, meanwhile, had an epic matchup against Flemings in last night’s Sweet 16 game, leading Illinois to a huge win over Houston. He showed how his size and poise can influence a high-level contest, pulling down 12 rebounds and looking comfortable in the half court—even under intense pressure—making passes over the top and getting into the paint off screens.

February has come and gone (quickly!) and we’re right in the heart of college basketball season and in-conference play. It’s time to analyze a new batch of mock drafts from Jonathan Wasserman (Bleacher Report), the No Ceilings crew, two from Ricky O’Donnell (SB Nation), Tankathon, and yours truly.

We’re fortunate to have a draft loaded with talent and intrigue. As March Madness approaches, the hot takes are reaching a boiling point. The biggest question—who goes No. 1—has turned into a daily debate, with every possession dissected and every game nitpicked for separation at the top.

In my view, Darryn Peterson has taken on an unfair wave of negative press centered around effort and availability. At the same time, there are whispers that his camp may prefer a situation where he can walk in as the clear alpha from Day 1.

Meanwhile, AJ Dybantsa and Cam Boozer continue to stack dominant performances and drive winning. Boozer’s impact feels very Tim Duncan–esque—steady, surgical, inevitable—while Dybantsa brings more of a Tracy McGrady–style flair, blending highlight-reel scoring with takeover stretches.

Personally, I have Boozer at No. 1. I think there’s a real possibility Peterson and Dybantsa would resist landing in Sacramento and could attempt to influence their destination. Boozer, on the other hand, feels more likely to embrace whatever situation he’s drafted into.

Fit matters, too. And it matters more than most years, with little separation between the three. I’m not sold on Dybantsa in Indiana; he can be ball-dominant, which doesn’t align too well with how the Pacers’ offense flows through Tyrese Haliburton. Peterson, however, would slot in seamlessly as a backcourt scorer to complement Pascal Siakam’s frontcourt production. Meanwhile, Brooklyn feels like an ideal landing spot for Dybantsa, allowing him to be alpha dog while shifting MPJ further into an off-ball role.

And for anyone who watched that electric Nolan Traore–VJ Edgecombe–Dybantsa wing trio for the World Team in the 2024 Nike Hoops Summit, it’s easy to imagine just how devastating Dybantsa could be in an up-tempo system surrounded by shooters.

The other raging debate is which lead guard has elevated themselves into the top 5 or 6 conversation. Kingston Flemings has been taking over stretches with dynamic shot-making, Mikel Brown looks fully reloaded and is carving defenses with three-level scoring post-injury, Darius Acuff continues to stuff the stat sheet for Arkansas, and Keaton Wagler has been on a scoring tear for Illinois. LaBaron Philon is dictating tempo and delivering efficient offense, while Christian Anderson is steering Texas Tech to statement wins without JT Toppin. Bennett Stirtz has been outstanding for Iowa as well, but he remains just a step below that top tier—for now. And on top of all that, I still ask myself if Nate Ament could be developed into a full-time point guard at the next level.
